Power Output and Generation

The PowerPro 56405 Generator can supply continuous power up to 3250 watts and can surge up to 4050 watts. The generator is rated to supply 120Volts AC power at 27 amps.

The engine is a 212cc 7HP OHV 4 stroke with air cooling. SAE Oil recommendations appear more restrictive than most manufactures. Anything above 40º F is recommended as straight 30W and 0º to 40º F is 10W-30 or 5W-30 and if going below 0º F use a synthetic 5W-30. We’re not sure why the 10W-30 for typical zero and above isn’t recommended. The engine uses 20 oz. of oil. Which is a pint and a quarter.

There are two 120V duplex outlets allowing 4 120v 5-20 receptacles and one 120V L5-30 amp receptacle. There is only one 27 amp breaker for all receptacles allowing you to use them in any combination of load up to a pull of the 27 amps.

Theoretically, you could end up pulling more than the 20 amp rating on a single part of the duplex outlet and create an overload condition. In practical terms this isn’t likely.

The L5-30 is a 3 pole configuration and shouldn’t be confused with the L14 which uses a 4 pole for 240V applications. Thus it is not set up to be used via a typical transfer switch, but will use the heavy duty L5 plug and 30 amp extension cord.

Noise: For its size and performance, this generator gives out a noise level of 67db at 22 feet. This is very reasonably quiet for this distance and won’t be to much of an annoyance.
