All Power America APG3014 USA Model

All Power America APG3014 1400 Watt Portable Generator is billed as 2000W generator, but rated continuous watts are 1400.

There are many companies that market and sell gas powered generators. These generators are available in different sizes to meet various needs.

All Power America is a company that is very new in the market. They started selling power tools and power equipment in North America in 2005. Though this company is new its products are backed by a large force of engineers who not only design and test their products but also are involved in stringent quality control when it comes to the manufacture of their products.

All Power America manufactures and markets many different sizes of efficient and durable portable gas powered generators to meet your needs. We found their online site to be very basic and show the various models in a gallery. You can download the users manual here as well, but provides only the basic information. No wiring diagrams or other technical data was directly available.

Let’s introduce you to the 1400/2000W APG3014 model.

Power Output and Generation

The All Power America APG 3014 portable generator is rated by the manufacture for 1400 watts of continuous power and a surge up to 2000 watts. It uses a 3 HP OHV engine running at 3600 rpm, which helps keep noise levels down. This is a non-CARB compliant model.

At this size range the unit is a tailgating or camping unit that can provide enough power for several small appliances.

A significant limitation of the output is that this unit is set up for 120Vs with two duplex (L5-20R) outlets. but limited to 11.6 amps (slightly less than 1400 watts). So any 12 to 15 amp appliance will not be appropriate for this model.

One owner tested it extensively and indicated that at 10 amps or 1225 watts it was reliable but at the 11 amp the engine slowed and was loaded hard. 12 amps did cause the engine to stop. Given this test and noting that the engine manufacture only rates the engine for 1300 watts suggests that it may under perform when approaching max rated capacity. Elevation will have a significant effect on these results as well.

This model does come with a 12V DC output at a 8.3 amp output (~100 watts) as well which makes it usable for a number of charging or small electronic devices. (The output may vary with engine load as this is not an inverter equipped unit.).

Fuel Type and Noise Levels:

The All Power America APG 3014 runs on unleaded gasoline and has a fuel tank capacity of 1.32 gallons and can run for 9 hours at 50% capacity (700 watts).

1400 watts can run several appliances and lights. As an example the manufacture claims a fridge, garage door opener, small microwave, and a small TV set. Fuel gauge is also included to monitor your current supply.

Oil is only required for the crank case and All Power indicates SAE10W-30 is required (not provided) and there are options for other temperature ranges. Somewhere around a 1/2 quart is needed. All Power did not give a specific volume, but as typical with these engines it’s a fill line in the oil fill cap to get it.

Noise: It is relatively a very quite generator having an operating noise level of 65 dB.Providing a good margin to the bench mark of 70dB making it very hearing friendly.

Dimensions and Weight

The All Power America APG 3014 generator has overall dimensions of 18.54 X 14.5 X 15.15 inches (LxWxH). (Note literature and information on Amazon has some errors such as the dimension for length was noted as only 8.5 inches, wouldn’t that be exciting!)

This makes this generator a very compact one and with a weight of only 54 to 57 pounds, it is light enough to be easily moved to where ever it is needed. Add another 9 lbs for gasoline. and it’s still a very manageable unit.

At this weight most individuals can lift it around for short distances or heft into the back of a truck bed or trunk. Two people would make it a breeze.

This unit is not equiped the mobility (wheels) kit that the larger All Power Generators do have.

Typical Uses and Needs

The All Power America APG 3014 generator is just the right size and portable enough to take camping to power your electrical appliances or even for an evening tailgating. It is a useful little generator which can power your power tools with lower wattage requirements on those job sites that do not have any electricity.

As a backup for the house it is a very convenient little generator that can be used to power your essential electrical equipment in times of a power failure. With its nearly 1400 watts of continuous output and a surge output of 2000 watts, a noise level of only 65dB makes it a very economical and efficient generator for your lower end needs.

Consumer Comments

The All Power America APG 3014 generator has a rating of 3.4 stars out of 5 on Amazon. Though the rating seems to be slightly low it may be due to the customers expecting more from this generator than its rated output. Most of the customers who have used this generator without overloading it have only good things to say about it.
